GolfLeader just launched in South Africa to provide subscribers with a live golf tournament leaderboard app for their next social golf tour or social golfing event. Subscription is free to individuals and social groups.
The app provides up to date scoring to golfers and non-golfers conveniently from any internet-connected device, including smartphones.
“Most golfing groups enjoy social golf tours or social golf events amongst friends. There is normally a competitive side to these which means scoring needs to be carefully checked and collated end of day or end of tour. However, this is a time-consuming process. The individuals responsible for checking the scores and compiling the leaderboard does so manually while trying to minimise mistakes. Of course, the larger the group, the more time consuming the scoring exercise becomes,” says Chris Willemse at GolfLeader.
The idea behind GolfLeader is to do all the planning and setup of the tour or event up front and when it is time to play golf, groups simply enter their scores into the app after each hole.
According to Christo Stander at GolfLeader, “setup is as easy as creating a tournament, specifying the number of rounds and courses, and allocating players to fourballs daily. The course database is frequently updated but subscribers can also request courses to be loaded on the system by sending an email to info@golfleader.co.za.”
“Using the app, each fourball can upload their scores and we will take care of all the calculations in real-time. This means everybody, including loved ones at home, can follow the chase to the clubhouse.”
GolfLeader currently caters for IPS, match play, and Nomads points (with auto handicap adjustment) formats, with a host of other formats on the roadmap for inclusion.
Registration is quick and easy and can be done at golfleader.co.za.
